Easy Tips for Keeping Your Crystals and Minerals Looking Their Best
Rocks may not need sunlight or water—but they do deserve a little attention. Whether you’re building a full collection or just picking up your first shiny thing, these simple care tips will help your stones stay beautiful for years to come.
1. Dust them regularly
Even the most stunning crystal loses its sparkle under a layer of dust. Use a soft brush (like a clean makeup brush or paintbrush) to gently remove debris. For smooth stones, a microfiber cloth works wonders. Skip harsh chemicals—your rocks don’t need them.
2. Keep them out of direct sunlight
Some minerals—like amethyst, celestite, and fluorite—can fade with too much sun exposure. Display them somewhere bright, but not under direct rays. If your shelf gets strong afternoon light, rotate your pieces from time to time to protect the more sensitive ones.
3. Store with care
If you’re not displaying a piece, wrap it in soft fabric or tissue paper before storing. Keep fragile or delicate minerals (like selenite or desert rose) away from hard surfaces or anything that could scratch or crush them. Bonus points for labeled boxes—you’ll thank yourself later.
