Since 1959, Mesquite BBQ has been doing it right; no gimmicks, just good food and even better people.
Trust when we say skip the chains and follow the locals. Just a mile-and-a-half from the Mesquite Arena and Rodeo, and only about 15 minutes from Downtown Dallas, this is our forever-favorite BBQ spot in DFW. Go for the brisket, stay for the hospitality.
Bear in mind: this isn’t just nostalgia. Mesquite BBQ is still active, still smoking meats the old way, still serving plates piled high with brisket, pulled pork, sausage, and their famous baked potatoes.
Their famous sauce echoes the original recipe from the earliest days at the legendary Red Bryan's Smokehouse, a sauce recipe carried over by Leon Crouch who was one of the founding owners.
For BBQ enthusiasts, Mesquite BBQ is a reminder that consistency is the craft—same smoker, same methods, same commitment to doing it right for decades. It’s the kind of spot rodeo fans recognize instantly and BBQ purists respect—built on tradition, patience, and food that doesn’t need explaining.
